Day 10: Devote Yourself to Prayer

Can you imagine spending 2.5 hours in prayer a day? It becomes a greater possibility when we hand everything over to God in prayer throughout our day.  Give it all to Him, the good, the bad and the ugly.  God already knows what we need, He wants to hear from us and He is patiently waiting. Don't forget prayers of thankfulness for those things that make our day a bit brighter and a little easier to handle.

Did you get a chance to ask God what His priorities in your day are?  Not surprisingly His list and mine were quite different.  Live today keeping God and everything He wants for us in the front of our mind in everything we do or say.   I can only imagine the things I will want to change in myself by the end of today to become more like Christ.

OK, so I can't resist commenting on "committing ourselves to prayer". One of the things that has really changed my prayer life is joining others to pray together. I know, it can be intimidating at first, but trust me, it will change your life. A group meets every Thursday night at Heartland and prays for our church and for each other. We meet from 7:45-8:45 pm (we are taking July 4th week off). We would love for you to join us while "committing yourself to prayer" :)

The power of prayer is so powerful . I agree with Angela, my prayer life has changed when I started to pray with others. What an awesome experience it is! Been with the prayer group over year now and something I look forward to every week. There's something about praying in a group of amazing people and feeling the presence of our Heavenly Father! Trust me, you won't regret it and you will want to come back the following week!
I will devote myself to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

Great reminder to pray for what God wants. I have to keep telling myself that when things don't go as I thought they would. His plan is much bigger than mine, and He's not letting me down. Also, for a long stretch of time, I kept a thankfulness journal that I contributed to every night. It changed my life. I need to get back on that! It only took a few minutes, but my outlook vastly changed when I took a minute to share those praises with God.
